Serving numerous roles in this often-overlooked conflict, the Naval Aviator utilized new technologies to fight a war against the emerging tyranny of Communism. Using helicopters and jet aircraft to augment or replace roles previously filled by prop planes, these men carried on the proud traditions of Naval Aviation by flying combat air patrol, attack, and rescue missions in support of ground personnel. This statuette is a true replica of the heroic-sized statue poised in the entrance of the National Museum of Naval Aviation.
